Intellectual Wellness
Create the conditions for intellectual wellness.
-
As an individual.
Find a place in your life that helps you feel creative or that you have the desire to learn. It could be your kitchen table with a fresh sheet of paper and pencil. It could be in a class at a local community center. Learning and creativity are central to the human experience and critical to your intellectual wellness.
-
As a household.
Does your home have a space for learning and creativity? Does it have the tools? This can be as simple as a box of crayons or a board game or as fancy as a studio or garden. Add some sunlight and plants and help your house be intellectually well.
-
As a street.
Can you walk to a park or garden on the same street on which you live? Work with neighbors to create a common space of intellectual wellness. This can be as simple as a shared picnic table for game night or crafting or as fancy as a porch concert series.
-
As a neighborhood.
Without crossing a major street, can you access a library, park, or community center? If so, do you attend or host events or classes? If you don’t have access try installing a front yard garden or a little free library. Watch your neighbors come to life.
